What advice would you give to your online students?
Online students should stay organized and aim to never fall behind on completing assignments. It is important to be self-disciplined and aware that online graduate classes are time-consumptive and rigorous. Therefore, students should prioritize their academics and other activities (e.g., work, family, etc.) and schedule regular time to work on their studies. In addition, students should seek clarifications and ask questions as soon as they arise.
What is the one book you think everyone should read?
I believe everyone (and MBA students in particular) should read business periodicals regularly. Good options are the Wall Street Journal, the business section of the New York Times, Fortune magazine, and Forbes magazine.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in business?
To be successful as an IT manager, it is critical to stay aware of the latest changes within your industry and technology. This may involve taking courses and/or attending industry and technology conferences and webinars. IT managers should be technologically savvy.
What do you do when you need a laugh?
I play cards and board games with my husband and daughters.
